Dos And Don’ts In CoolSculpting

CoolSculpting has become one of the most popular procedures in aesthetics in the last few years. It has helped so many people to get rid of stubborn fat pockets , correct asymmetries, and achieve the body image they always desired.

Although many other machines and procedures continue to emerge promising similar results, CoolSculpting continues to be known for the best in effectiveness, tolerance, and end results.

But still, body contouring procedures remain on the high end when it comes to pricing. That’s why if you decide to undergo such a procedure, you need to know what you should or shouldn’t do to achieve the best results!

But first, If you need to learn more about CoolSculpting procedure itself visit our page here.

1. Make sure you are a good candidate

CoolSculpting is not for everyone. CoolSculpting is NOT a weight-loss procedures, so if your goal to lose weight this procedure is not for you. Know that the machine can fit certain amount of fat with each cycle, which makes the results unsatisfactory if you have a lot of bulges. But if you have a reasonable weight, CoolSculpting can make it easier to reach your dream body image you were hoping for.

Being a good candidate also includes having enough fat to be sucked into the CoolSculpting machine to be treated. Your doctor will help measure the pocket fats you have and make sure you are a good fit.

Also, make sure you don’t have any of the major contraindications of CoolSculpting. Click here to learn about medical conditions that are contraindications to have CoolSculpting.

2. Set up realistic expectations

If it is your first time, be open with your doctor about what you expect to achieve to help her determine the number of treatments that are necessary for you to achieve your goals. Each treatment is expected to reduce up to 20% of the fat in any area. Some Patients might be happy with that while others were hoping for more! The treatments can be repeated every two months or more. In addition to setting image expectations, this also helps setting cost expectations as well.

3. Look for the right place

CoolSculpting is a non-invasive procedure. Yet, it’s very important to find a board certified doctor’s office to have it there. Make sure that any assistants helping are familiar with the procedure and how to apply the probes.

4. Be ready to spend sometime

Depending on how many cycles you were told you will receive on that day, your doctor will give you an expected time to spend in the clinic. Add extra time for skin cleaning, wiping, and getting the probes ready. One patient received 17 cycles in one day at our office, and she was served with a complimentary lunch and dinner!

5. Expect the feeling

Coolsculpting is generally a pain-free procedure. When starting the procedure, you will feel pulling, tugging or even a cramping sensation. Later, you’ll feel a sensation of extreme cold in the treatment area which might be scary at first. That sensation will go away as the area becomes more numb! After the end of a cycle, your practitioner will perform at least a 2 minute massage to the area. Most of our patients report this massage to be their lease favorite part! The area would be fairly tender but the massage is important to kill any fat cells that were on the verge or dying.

Almost 10% of Coolsculpting patients may experience some pain or soreness after the procedure, which can be very minimal. In some cases, pain lingers anywhere from a few hours to a few days or weeks. Some of our patients told us that it helped when they used spanks or wore tight clothing immediately afterwards.

On top of the pain, you might also experience swelling, numbing and itching. We noticed that the Abdominal area was the most sensitive while the thighs and love handles had almost no issues.

6. Rest and hydrate

Drinking lots of water during and after the procedure will help your lymphatic system flush away dead fat cells. You may also want to avoid aggressive exercise. Give your body some time to rest for few days after the procedure.

7. Capture the moment

Your doctor has definitely taken pictures before your procedure, but it does’t hurt if you do the same too. Documenting your experience and sharing it with the other members of the community, inspires those who need more encouragement or those who are afraid of such treatments. Your documentation will also be a wonderful memory of the journey you’ve been through!

8. Be Patient

Although you probably would be hoping to see the results of your investment immediately, you need to know that this is not going to happen. If anything, your treated area will swell more making it look bigger. But be patient! Your body needs time to get rid of the dead fat cells. The results of your treatment will start to show in the next one to four months with the most dramatic results showing after the two-month period.

9. What happens next depends on you

Most patients anticipate long-term results after getting the treatment. The reality is, it really depends on you and what you do after getting it. Keep track of what you eat, and continue a sustainable level of exercise. And remember, although you lost a significant number of fat cells during this procedure, you still have plenty of cells waiting to fill up as soon as you forget how hard you worked to get here!
