Overview

 Coolsculpting procedure is an FDA non-invasive procedure that is intended to treat visible fat bulges in the treatment area by delivering controlled cooling at the surface of the skin to break down fat cells that are just beneath the skin . It has also been FDA-cleared to affect the appearance of lax skin with submental area treatments. This is NOT a treatment for weight loss although it will look like you did!

What areas can be treated?

• Submental (under the chin) and submandibular area (under the jawline)
• Thighs (inner and outer)
• Abdomen and flank
• Bra fat
• Back fat
• Underneath the buttocks (Banana rolls)
• Upper arms

If you’re a good candidate for it, CoolSculpting has a lot of benefits over other fat-elimination procedures. Fat cells frozen by CoolSculpting never return because the body eliminates them. There are no incisions because it’s a noninvasive procedure, and there’s no scarring after treatment. There’s also no required rest or recovery time.

When do I see results?

Results may begin to show in as little as a few weeks. Most people experience full results three months after their final treatment.

Contraindications

Not everyone is a good candidate for CoolSculpting, here are some examples of some people who shouldn’t undergo this procedure:

• Patients with  Cryoglobulinemia, Cold Agglutinin Disease, or Paroxysmal Cold Hemoglobinuria
• Recent surgery in the treated area
• Hernia in the treated area
• Sensitivity to the gel used during the procedure

What to expect during and after the procedure?

During the procedure, most clients experience a sensation of mild pinching, tugging, pulling, intense cold, stinging, tingling and cramping in the treatment site. These sensations tend to subside in 2-3 minutes as the area becomes numb.

After the procedure, most clients experience numbness, temporary redness, swelling, blanching or bruising, firmness, tingling, tenderness, itching, or sensation of fullness in the back of the throat after submental or submandibular area treatment. All these effects are normal after treatment and tend to go away some within minutes, and some within few days.
