Facial Rejuvenation

“Most people do not have a problem with being old. They have a problem with looking old.”

-Mokokoma Mokhonoana

Overview

Facial Rejuvenation became the term used to reflect the procedure needed to restore facial features to their previous youthful appearance. As we grow older, the skin undergoes changes that make it look old and tired. Increased sagging, wrinkles, loss of cheek or jaw volume, increased pores and uneven skin tone are some of the complaints where facial rejuvenation is considered.

So, How would you know whether facial rejuvenation is right for you?. You can start by taking the mirror test! Try this; stand in front of a mirror in a well-lit room and look at all your features. Now, Ask yourself what concerns you, and what would you like to change?. Then, Look into your old photos and compare your facial features in the past and now, then acknowledge what you like in this change and what you don’t.

What are your Facial Rejuvenation Options?

facial anatomy. You need a professional who can determine whether a non-invasive or invasive procedure is good for you or not. You may think you need a facelift when all you may need is Botox and fillers!.

Non-Surgical Facelift. Facelift is discussed in detail under the Facelift section. The main reason to go with a facelift is to have sagging of the skin, development of jowls, and loss of elasticity in the skin. For example, the Profound non-surgical facelift! This technology works by helping the skin to rebuild collagen and elastin. As it releases Radiofrequency through the skin to an exact temperature and depth for an exact amount of time, it allows delivery of precise energy to the deeper skin tissue. The advantage of this procedure is it has long-lasting results. Other methods used for facelift include PDO threads and fillers.

Neuromodulators. For instance, Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin are agents that weaken the targeted muscle limiting muscle contraction. Thus, Botox results in diminished unwanted wrinkles. This means, these neuromodulators are able to treat the lines of the forehead, crow’s feet, frown lines, and DOA which are muscles that draw down the corners of the mouth, etc.

Fillers. While we age, we naturally lose volume under our skin when collagen production is decreased. This can be more prominently noticeable in the face. The loss of volume is especially evident around the eyes and cheeks. Fillers help to reduce fine lines and wrinkles by adding volume to the targeted areas. Fillers such as Restylane, Voluma, Vollure, or Juvederm work on replenishing the hyaluronic acid back into your skin; which adds to its plumping and smoothing effect. Degradable fillers reducing early signs of aging as softening facial lines and plumping thin lips.

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) treatment. whether injected separately or as part of the Vampire Facial or Vampire Facelift, plasma has resulted in a revolutionary turnaround in the aesthetics world. PRP uses the natural healing powers of a person’s blood to correct various signs of aging. For instance, wrinkles, creases, loose saggy skin, pores, scars, or uneven tone. Also, it increases the blood supply to the face thus giving it a more youthful color too. Adding PRP to micro-needling or to fillers (Vampire Facelift) has shown to give more rejuvenating results when using them separately; hence, 1+1 equals 3, not 2!.

Sublative. The sublative eTwo treatment is a resurfacing treatment. It delivers bipolar radiofrequency energy via a matrix of electrodes in a disposable applicator tip. It causes micro-injuries that initiate a strong wound healing response while limiting damage to the skin surface. This process leads to a smoother, rejuvenated appearance of the skin. Sublative is a good option for men and women with more significant skin laxity and deeper lines and wrinkles. Also, It is recommended for those who have deep pores and acne scarring. After this treatment, mild to moderate wrinkles and superficial skin discoloration are reduced, and skin texture becomes smoother and elastic.

Sublime. Also, known as the “Red Carpet treatment”!!. It’s a skin tightening and contouring procedure. The sublime treatment is very much like the sublative except it is less invasive. It focuses on the deeper dermal tissues of the face with no superficial injury. The heated molecules deep inside the dermis stimulate the production of collagen and elastin; resulting in firmer, smoother, and younger-looking skin. Sublime is a good option for men and women with mild skin laxity and superficial fine lines and wrinkles.

Microneedling. Micro-needling with SkinPen, a highly advanced skin rejuvenation system. It helps reduce fine lines and wrinkles. This procedure creates thousands of precise micro-injuries or “micro-channels” in the dermis. this stimulates new collagen growth without causing scar tissue formation. This technology takes advantage of the skin’s natural healing process. When Micro-needling makes micro-channels in the skin, it produces new collagen and elastin, leading to appear fresher skin. Thus, This treatment is ideal for men and women who have textural concerns like enlarged pores, acne scarring, or fine lines and wrinkles. In addition, Microneedling aids with the reduction of hyperpigmentation.

Laser Facial treatment. Here, you can revitalize skin with laser energy to tackle pigmentations, age spots, spider veins, etc.
Laser facials are suitable for all skin types and almost every area of the body.
