What is PRP?

There’s a reason why PRP is a hot topic in medicine: It’s a substance that comes from your own blood to promote natural healing and cell regeneration. It has many clinical and cosmetic applications, several of which are available at Chrysolite Aesthetics MedSpa. 

Dr. Abu-Zeitoon extracts a sample of your blood to use in your PRP procedure. Using a centrifuge to separate the different components of your blood, she removes the red and white blood cells. Too many red or white blood cells in PRP can counteract the substance’s effectiveness by causing inflammation, bruising, and even cell death. 

The PRP itself contains blood plasma, which is the liquid component. It also contains platelets, which release growth factors to facilitate tissue regeneration. 

What can PRP treat?

PRP can treat a few different conditions, complications, and physical features that stem from aging and cellular degeneration.
