What Are The Different Types Of Body Sculpting?

Body sculpting is a non-surgical cosmetic procedure that uses cold, heat, energy, or injectables to eliminate fatty tissue. There are many ways to perform body sculpting. Most non-surgical procedures are based on the following principles:

CoolSculpting

CoolSculpting, also known as Cryolipolysis, is a body contouring method that targets stubborn fatty tissue by freezing it. This method is non-invasive and there are no needles or anesthesia involved. In addition to, there is very little downtime required after the procedure. CoolSculpting has been around for quite some time and was FDA approved back in 2010. Unlike other contouring methods, CoolSculpting has a long track record of success at this point. The predominant downside if that this treatment takes the longest, at an average of an hour per session.

Target areas include: abdomen, thighs, flanks, arms, bra and back fat, underneath the buttocks, and the double chin.

Treatment length: Typically, one treatment area takes 30-60 minutes, with little to no downtime in most cases. Multiple treatments are usually required to get satisfactory results.

Radio-Frequency

Vela Shape is FDA-cleared procedures that use radio-frequency technology to contour the body. In general, radio-frequency technology is fairly gentle on the skin when treating stubborn pockets of fat and cellulite. It involves very little to no discomfort.

Target areas include the abdomen and the flanks.

Treatment length: Typically, each treatment takes half an hour, and you should be able to go back to your daily activities immediately. To receive optimal results, multiple treatments are usually required.

Kybella

Kybella was FDA approved in 2015 as an injection to treat the submental area, which is under the chin. This injection method uses a synthetic form of deoxycholic acid, which is a substance that is otherwise naturally produced by the body. This substance helps absorb fat cells and has the potential to kill it also.

In the following weeks after the procedure, your body will gradually metabolizes the dead cells.

Target areas include: the chin area (specifically under the chin).

Treatment length: Typically, treatment takes about 30 minutes. Apart from some swelling and bruising, recovery time is minimal in most cases. You should be able to resume daily activities almost immediately. In order to get the best results, we recommend more than one treatment.
